At Waldringfield Primary School we believe in the importance of physical activity for our pupils.
At Waldringfield Primary School we believe in the importance of physical activity for our pupils.
Playing sport helps to keep people healthy and is good for communities.
Playing sport at school or in a local club is also the first step to competition at the highest level, which helps improve our reputation as a sporting nation, and contributes to economic growth.
To make sure as many people as possible are playing sport, the government is:
funding Sport England, to help community sports grow, including helping 14- to 25-year-olds to keep playing sport throughout their lives
expanding the School Games programme to increase opportunities for more young people to play competitive sport
protecting school sport funding.

Our aim is to provide children with high quality PE and sporting opportunities. We run several clubs for sports such as football, netball, rugby, cross country.
We are using our sports premium funding to engage children in KS1 and 2 with more sporting opportunities outside of the normal curriculum. In addition, children at Waldringfield receive specialist coaching for a lesson each week. During this time, the class teacher is learning from the sports coach and gaining ideas and skills to use in their own teaching.
In addition, Waldringfield are looking to improve the sporting equipment and apparatus inside and outside school.
Currently, Owls and Badgers classes go swimming during curriculum time. We invest time in supporting all children at an individual level and staff do enter the water to support children with SEND.
